Australian Woodcraft Galleries- History

We first opened our doors to the public in September 2001 and operated a retail outlet in the Perth Central Business District for eight years in two different locations. Initially on the west end of Murray Street between King Street and Shafto Lane. In December 2004 we moved to smaller, more central, premises in the Carillon City Arcade.

In September 2009, on the completion of our lease in Carillon City, we established our business solely on-line operating from our home.

Our Shopping Cart

The shopping cart section of our web-site is hosted on a secure server, actually in the UK. This organisation emails us your order and we then log into their web-site through many levels of security to access your credit card details. These details are used with the National Australia Bank to debit your card.

You can shop with us in complete confidence regarding your security.

If you prefer to contact us directly to make a purchase, rather than use the Shopping Cart, you are welcome to do so. Please telephone or email us using the contact details provided at the bottom of this page.

Using the Shopping Cart:

Clicking on a "Buy Now" button will take you to a new page where your purchase is listed. It is here that you can modify the quantities required and see the cost calculated.

Having done so, simply use the "Back" button of your browser to return to the page you were viewing, or use the "Go to Payments" button to complete your transaction.

Finalising a purchase using the shopping cart does not automatically debit your credit card. We are made aware of your requirements and only if the items are available in the required quantities, and after accurately calculating postage, will we debit your card.

If we need to obtain additional stock to meet your order, we will contact you to confirm that this is acceptable and also advise of the expected lead-time for delivery.

No payment is taken until we are ready to send the goods ordered.

The cost of postage will be calculated as accurately as possible. We do not charge for "handling" or "packaging".

There is a comments and enquiry box on the shopping cart page where you can request a quote on delivery if you wish.

Payment Options

On-Line: Shopping Cart using MasterCard, Visa or PayPal. You also have the option of selecting Direct Deposit, in which case we will contact you with the cost including postage and provide you with our bank account details for the deposit.

By email or telephone: We accept Visa, MasterCard, Direct Deposit or personal cheque. Please note that goods will not be released or dispatched until the funds have been cleared in our account. With cheques and Direct Deposits (from Australian banks only), this may take a couple of business days. With credit cards, the process is completed the same day.

If you select PayPal or Direct Deposit as your payment option, we will contact you with payment instructions and the total sum required once delivery charges have been calculated.

Overseas Customers and Tax

All prices shown on our web-site include GST (Goods and Service Tax) which does not apply to overseas customers. We are happy to quote you the GST free prices and shipping costs. For your information, the GST rate in Australia is 10% (ten percent).

As an example, a product selling for $110 contains GST of $10, ($100 + 10% = $110). To calculate the GST component, take one-eleventh off the retail price, eg. $110/11 = $10 GST.

Delivery

By default we use Australia Post. Wherever possible we use Express Satchels within Australia for added security as they are individually bar-coded and consequently trackable. However, bulky items, while meeting the weight limitations, sometimes exceed the volume capacity of the satchels. Express satchels are priced as follows:

Up to 500 grams in weight = AU$10.50
500 grams to 3 kilograms in weight = $13.50
5 kg Express Satchels for bulkier items = $22.25

Overseas postage by default is Airmail. Australia Post charges entirely by weight for overseas parcels and there are limits to the weight and dimensions for such parcels.

We will always accurately calculate your postal costs and charge only that amount.

Where the value of the goods warrants it, we will add insurance and/or use the 'Registered Post' option provided by Australia Post.

Pewter

West Australian made pewter is available in a wide range of products ranging from ornamental figurines to bookmarks and serviette rings, and we can also arrange custom made corporate items such as belt buckles, coasters, medallions and key rings etc.
