SLIMLINE PEN KIT PARTS

Slimline kits are not sold singularly, they are only supplied in packs of 5. Mix and match any of the styles to receive the discount price.

Use a 7 mm bit to drill the blanks. Suggested blank size is 16-17mm square by 120mm long. The refill used is a Cross® style. The refill is supplied with the kit.

Undoubtedly the most commonly made kit pen in the world. The Slimline is a favourite due to the fact that it is a very attractive pen and is popular with men and women alike. This style of pen always sells well to the tourist and corporate sectors, particularly if using a local, iconic, species of timber.

The favourable pricing of the kits means that it also the most common "starter" kit for those entering the field of pen turning. Despite its frequent use as a starter kit, it is not the easiest pen to make, but it will develop in the beginner all the skills necessary to confidently go on to more involved and expensive kits.

These parts are provided as spares, often mistakes in assembly can be rectified by having a small selection of spares. Extra tubes are always useful. These parts also allow you to personalise your pens by changing the standard clip or centreband for something that will give it an entirely different look.

Pictured at left is a Slimline pen and letter opener set in Western Australian Sheoak Timber. The centreband supplied with the kit has not been used and the upper barrel is a larger diameter than the lower barrel. Two lines have been burnt into the timber as an embellishment.
